5 km south of Ribnitz-Damgarten lies the "Hagendorf" Ehmkenhagen. First mentioned in 1310, the village belonged to the Ribnitz monastery founded in 1323. After secularization, the monastery served as a residence for the unmarried daughters of the Mecklenburg nobility. To provide for them, the monasteries had extensive land holdings. This was also the case with the nearly 400 hectare estate in Ehmkenhagen, which was later leased out continuously. The Bade family was the tenant family for many years in the 19th/20th century.

Most of the buildings of the estate were demolished already in the first years after the war. Some of the former reapers' houses still exist. After 1945, the manor house initially served as accommodation for the many refugees from the eastern parts of Germany. From 1956 the apprentices of an agricultural school moved in. Before 1989, there were still some apartments in the house. After the fall of the Wall, the house was initially sold to interested parties in Berlin, who began the first security measures. The current owners acquired the house in 2018 and began the basic renovation, which continues to this day.

The manor house was built in the second half of the 19th century and stands slightly elevated on a granite base. The 1½-story brick building has 9 axes and a dimension of 32 x 15 m and has a partial basement. The outer axes in each case are emphasized by dividing pilaster strips (wall panels) and broken up on the upper floor by square decorative elements. At the entrance front, the central risalit has three axes and is again richly decorated on the upper floor. Strong pilaster strips led, as also at the edges of the building, as turrets over the eaves. Pilaster strips also frame the three-part central window. The verge is decorated with a console frieze. This same facade arrangement is also found on the building gables. Other ornamental details include a strap band appearing in relief around the perimeter and a dentil cornice at the eaves.

Originally connected by a connector, the earlier, unrenovated farm building stands slightly off-axis. It has dimensions of 8 x 10 meters.

The front part of the separate former barn is currently still in use, the rear part is ruinous. However, it is possible to rebuild it. The barn has dimensions of 17 x 11 meters.

Today, the house is 70% renovated. The roof truss has been renovated and the roof has been re-roofed. The windows are partially renewed. Approx. 60 % of the electrical and sanitary installations have been renewed. A 90 kw liquid gas heating with underground tank is installed. The house is also connected to the local sewage system.
